Everyone learns differently. Some are auditory, some are visual, others prefer reading/writing, and many are kinesthetic (need to feel/sense it). We adapt our teaching style to your learning style, which means that whether you learn best by looking at squiggly lines on a graph, or prefer us riding in the right seat, we adapt to suit your needs.
We'll do an intake interview to asses what you really hope to accomplish, digging deeply to understand your explicit and perhaps unstated goals (many are reticent to say they just want to be faster than so and so, for example). Whether you just want to build your car-control skills or want to go from a mid-pack club racer to the podium, we'll help you get there.
We only want to work with people committed to continuous learning. If you are seeking validation or recognition for how "fast you are," then we're not your best choice. If you come with an appetite to improve, are hungry to try new ways of doing things, and don't think you're "All that," then we're here for you. We'll tell you after our intake interview whether or not we feel you're a good candidate for our coaching, and we promise not to waste your time. Our goal is to help you achieve your goals, but you have to want to improve and realize that EACH OF US needs coaching and continuous improvement. There's always someone faster than any of us on any given day.
Don't worry about upgrading your car. Work on the software (you), not the hardware - that means you're better off working on yourself than spending thousands on your car. We'll teach you skills that apply to ANY car, and we'll get you faster. In fact, if you have a "slow" car with used tires, all the better. You'll learn more with a slow car than if you arrive with a $250,000 supercar with unlimited nannies, driver aids and super-sticky tires.
We'll use the track map, your data system (if you have one), we might want to ride along with you (or maybe not), and we might find it best to drive your car for a couple laps with you riding shotgun. We'll definitely do pre-session and post-session reviews, focusing on no more than 2-3 areas of concentration, focusing on fundamentals first. The best drivers simply perform the fundamentals better and more consistently than others, and adapt better to changing circumstances. Every student needs different tools, so we won't approach every student as a nail in need of a hammer.
As you might expect, the best value we offer is coaching at UMC, as it's 50 miles from our home. You don't have to reimburse us for travel to this track. Contact me at bryan@fullthrottledriving to schedule your coaching.
You will receive my undivided attention for the day, starting with an intake interview prior to the event and "homework" so you are as prepared as possible. Coaching includes a complimentary "Deep Drive" tutorial of the Outer Loop or Full Track (if one of those configurations is being run), giving you a huge advantage in and of itself. The day of the event, we'll work on 2-3 goals for the first driving session, do post-session reviews, and re-evaluate the game plan continuously.
Recruit a buddy (or rival) and the coaching will be even more fun. Working with two people, we'll review individual performance but share feedback with both of you simultaneously, allowing you the extra advantage of seeing a different perspective and generating camaraderie and some healthy competition.
For tracks that require me to travel, I charge pass-through travel expenses such as air, hotel, entry/registration fees (if I'll be driving your car or right-seat coaching), plus my normal daily coaching fee.
